Czech World of Warcraft fans donned costumes on Saturday to bring the massively popular online game to life, pushing ahead with a scaled-back festival after the coronavirus pandemic postponed the annual event earlier this season.

The yearly spring festival usually brings up to 200 fans but organisers said turnout was about 60 this season after the delay caused by coronavirus lockdowns at Europe.

"We are just happy that this season (the festival) is happening," said Eliska Pabl Kaplanova, among the organisers. "So this year it is a smaller point."

The online role-playing game has become a cultural phenomenon as launching in 2004, with millions of players worldwide.

Jaroslav Racek, a policeman by day, said he was making his seventh visit to the Czech event and he it was a chance to be immersed in something distinct.

"There is a fantastic group of people here," he said, dressed as a"Burning Legion" demon. "A individual could love himself on the planet and not simply sit at a computer."

The machine requirements for the upcoming World of Warcraft Shadowlands growth have been upgraded, and based on Blizzard, an SSD drive must perform the expansion. Past expansions, including World of Warcraft most recent Battle for cheap wow gold classic Azeroth growth, did not cite an SSD as a platform requirement. For reference, Battle for Azeroth requires an HDD (7200RPM) with at least 70GB of free space.
