How can you hit shots in NBA2K21?

Stick when grab and take or post fade. Button from anyplace in near. Works for me but it required a little practice. Is not it harder to select your layup if you utilize button? I have always fought with those controls and utilized stick for layups. I would LOVE to 2K MT be shooting at 40% but I'm lucky if I can hit 20%. I just play offline. I know we've scrub players right now, and I am a below average player but seriously even layups that are in the middle of the meter aren't moving in. I do not even dare to try a jump shot. The AI appears to be absurd levels too. I understand they want to reward ability in 2k21 but this kind of stuff will really put off casual players and people new the 2K franchise and brand new to basketball matches.

I have been enjoying since 2K13 but I've never been that great of a player. My starter players've never played this bad in 2k16,17,18,19 and 20. The only other 2K I played 2K20 was 2K13 and which was on PC. I improved a hell of a lot in 2K20 to the point where I really could go as large as Superstar without using STS. But this is a whole new level with a completely different mechanic. I did ok at the demonstration and in the quickgames with the brand new shooting meter but can't hit the side of a barn here.

Simply played with the demo, however, the stick was much more dependable than button for me. I've always been a button man also. I have a 75 3 pointer, I think I greened one shooter in like 5 nba games. . . Genuinely shooting 2/16 within an offline triple threat game on just layups and 1 open jumpshot that airballed on slightly early. Spent $100 for this bullshit lmao. Person that the shooting is extra nice right now but that I would advise shot timing like look for the que on the cartoon.

Yep I am having trouble with it as well. Launched a game on My team going 0/12 overlooking open 3s and midsize shots all around the place. I'm all for them toning down shots being nearly automatic but the machine seems just a tiny bit too unforgiving so far. Hopefully will start to Cheap NBA 2K21 MT get better after a few more matches of getting used to it. The game just came out and we gotta new meter using slightly different time.
