We are nearing the end of June, which has been one of the busiest months in Animal Crossing, with several seasonal celebrations as well as a month-long wedding event to take part in to keep players entertained. However, now that that is nearly completed, we are rapidly approaching the start of the brand new month of July. Now we're looking ahead to July and talking about 6 ACNH July changes and new events we can expect to see around our island during the summer months.

Changes to the ACNH in July, as well as Summer Events
With regard to animal crossing, July is probably the least active month with less to do than an average month, at least in New Horizons; it has been a couple of months since the most recent update, and we are nearing the end of all of the new content that has been added since then. Despite the fact that it is the quietest month in ACNH and that there is nothing particularly significant taking place right now, there are still some exciting things to look forward to, particularly if you are a new player. Six changes and new additions that we can expect to see during the month of July, including the smaller details such as environmental adjustments seen throughout the ACNH island, seasonal celebrations and their corresponding seasonal items, a fishing tournament, a bug off, and island aesthetics, are highlighted.

1. Seasonal Merchandise
July is perhaps the only month during which the availability of crafting materials in both hemispheres remains constant. Currently, we can still collect summer shells in the northern hemisphere, and we can still collect snowflakes in the southern hemisphere, as the seasons permit. This is also true for recurring annual holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. July is also a very quiet month, with no noteworthy events taking place, making it a very quiet month overall. As a result of the latest 1.10 update, we will be treated to four seasonal celebrations throughout July, each of which will commemorate a real-world event while also introducing new limited-time items to the game.
Tanabata is back after a successful debut last year, and it will be open from July 1st through July 7th, reintroducing the fantastic bamboo grass item. Marine Day, which is a brand new celebration that runs from July 8th through July 22nd, is the first time the ship wheel door decoration has been introduced. The 14th of July is a brand-new celebration that introduces the Phrygian cap for the very first time. It takes place from July 10th through July 20th and is open to the public. The cowboy festival, which is returning after a successful inaugural year, reintroduces the rodeo-style springy ride on and will be held from July 15th through the end of August, weather permitting. Even though there are no actual events scheduled, there are still a number of exclusive items to look forward to throughout the month of July.

2. Climate Change Phenomena
In the northern hemisphere, we are currently in the midst of summer, while in the southern hemisphere, we are in the midst of winter. As a result, there are no significant changes associated with the actual seasons in July. However, we can expect to see some changes in the weather phenomena that can be observed on the New Horizons island as a result of the mission. It is possible that players in the northern hemisphere will notice the rarer commulo nimbus clouds spawning for the first time this year as the second half of July progresses. These clouds appear during the height of summer on clear or partially cloudy days, and they are particularly noticeable. However, you will only come across them on days when your island is expected to experience bad weather, making them extremely difficult to come across. Players in the southern hemisphere, on the other hand, may come across billow clouds, which are not as uncommon but will still appear on clear days during the snowy season. Additionally, for players who are experiencing snow, the beautiful aurora can now be seen during the evenings.

3. Tawny (or tan)
In spite of the severe lack of in-game events throughout July, it is the tawny season, which means that there will be plenty of activities to participate in across both hemispheres starting on July 10th. A fishing tournament will be held for the third time this year, and cj will be on hand to host the event. This will be the summer tournament for players from both the southern and northern hemispheres. The tournaments themselves are identical between the two hemispheres, and they consist of us catching as many fish as we can while racing against time. However, because of the seasonal variations, the fish you can encounter will differ slightly from one another. Even if you've previously participated in the fishing tournament, this is a great opportunity to reclaim some of the prizes you may have missed out on, such as the fishprint tea and the fish print poster, which are both available in a variety of designs.

4. Take the bug out of your ear
The bug off contest will continue throughout July in order to keep the tournament season going. The first bug off is actually scheduled for the end of June, so you may not have even had the opportunity to participate yet. However, the second bug-off will take place on July 31st, which is the last day of the month. As is customary, flick will make an appearance to host the contest and challenge participants to catch as many bugs as they can before the timer expires. This is an excellent opportunity to earn one of three awesome trophies, as well as some limited-time items that you may have missed out on previously, such as the termite mound and the butterfly backpack, during this event. Unfortunately, because the bug off is a summer activity, it is only available in the northern hemisphere during the summer months. If you live in the southern hemisphere, however, you could travel to a friend's island in the northern hemisphere to participate if you want to.

5. Aesthetics on the Island
July will bring about a shift in the types of bushes that bloom in both the northern and southern hemispheres. Flowers on blue and pink hydrangea bushes have been blooming in the northern hemisphere since the beginning of summer; however, the flowers will begin to fade by the end of July, depending on the weather. Instead, red and yellow hibiscus will begin to bloom on July 21st and will continue to bloom throughout August and September. Similarly, holly bushes that are currently flowering in the southern hemisphere will lose their flowers from June 16th onwards, with red and pink camellia bushes blooming in their place starting on the following day. As is always the case, it is a minor detail, but one that is critical for those who use bushes to decorate the island in accordance with a particular theme.

6. Critters are a type of insectAs we would expect with the start of a new month, we will see a shift in the types of critters that we can encounter on the island of New Horizons, including bugs, fish, and other creatures that we have never seen before. Unfortunately, due to the winter season, there are no new critters arriving in the southern hemisphere during the month of July. Players in the northern hemisphere, on the other hand, will be able to encounter 29 new critters, the majority of which have been absent for several months. However, some of the new creatures that players in the northern hemisphere will be able to encounter include the giraffe stag, the blue marlin, and the giant isopod, which is extremely fast and one of the most difficult deep-sea creatures to catch. For newer players, July is an excellent time to catch a large number of new critters. However, even veteran players who may have already caught some of these creatures will benefit from the opportunity to catch some rare and expensive creatures if they intend to sell them for Animal Crossing bells.
