First is obviously the Strike bonus

  - it might be less RuneScape gold than 25 percent more precise (fully equipped, 163 using the Godsword compared to 132 with the whip+defender setup), but that's a huge advantage against the monster's defence ratio. It permits you to hit fairly more often, so far as hunting trips go. The second principal advantage, is the Strength bonus. You're able to inflict at least 6 more damage points than any previous weapon you had (I believe the most powerful was Dharok's Greataxe). Lastly, there is an additional 8 points prayer bonus.

All this is very nice for hunting trips, but for casual battle, mainly Slayer, the sword is not as spectacular than you might imagine. It hits more often and more difficult, but twice as slow than the whip. It's definitely not the melee edition of the Dark Bow, minus the Black Mask plus a super strike potion to compensate for the loss of speed, I'd stick with something else. Mind you, it depends on the size of this creature (Black Demons for instance, Godsword's fine there).

To briefly sum it up, wait until the Item Lending system comes out, and borrow a Godsword from among your friends for a couple of days. As for the hilts, I have the Bandos hilt, and I am very pleased with that. My personal opinion about the hilts is (regardless of cost ): Armadyl - Has 2 strikes per bar (50% drain), and has the capacity to hit tough. Take your highest hit, and include 25% to it. Of course, it's all random, so don't expect nailing 60s every time you use it. Bandos - Has a single attack per pub (100% drain), also has the capacity to reach hard, in addition to lowering the competitor's defence level by the amount it strikes. The best option for searching trips. You manage to hit a 50 with this to a GWD boss, and it is already dead.

Saradomin - Has 2 attack per pub (50% drain). You already know what it does, and I will let you know what other items can do it too: The Bones to Peaches spell or tabs, historical Blood spells, Bunyip, Fruit Bat, Guthan's. The hilt's a waste of space in general. Zamorak - Drains 60 percent of the pub when employed. Nothing that the Ice Barrage spell can not do, and like itsometimes freezes you for half of the time, and occasionally for approximately a second. Used to be the least expensive and most unworthy hilt, but people started ranging Zilyana (Saradomin's down the GWD) and realized it is much more comfy than historical magicks.
